That's right. The Dream Center in Los Angeles. It was started by Pastor Tommy Barnett at Phoenix First Assembly of God in 1994. www.dreamcenter.org

Hey Gena - I apologize for taking so long to welcome you to CMC!! Been pretty busy! BUT, I'm very glad to have you and am quite interested in reading your work and learning more about your counseling and volunteer work. I just put your book on my wishlist in Amazon and will purchase it on my wife & my next checkout. How long were you in Austin? It's been awhile since i've been down there, but my wife and i are actually going for a long weekend in mid-october to visit one of her friends. Look forward to chatting more and learning from you. Thanks again & God bless! =)

You're right! The streets are full of lost and lonely young and old strangers that need our Savior. We hold the key and must bring it to them. Are you familiar with The Dream Center in Los Angeles? (http://www.dreamcenter.org/)
I am hoping to join with my Pastor and several others in joining up with them in February. I have heard so much about this place.
Honestly, like so many others, I became complacent, forgetting about the homeless. The complacence set in so quietly. You get busy raising a family, running a ministry or business and chasing your dreams. It isn't right, but it's what happens.
I'd be willing to bet that a significant portion of these teens had church in their past and found nothing comforting there either. It's an epidemic that needs to be resolved in the church. We look down our noses at the "wild child" or "weird kid" and make little effort, if any, to reach out to them. They need our love before, during and after the storms come. A love that only Christ in us can offer.

I am a fair writer and a poor reader, outside of the Word of God. So, I will make it a point to get the book. I will certainly send it to ya for signing. Thank you for that. I have recently felt God dealing with me concerning the Homeless and the poor. Our mission as Christians is to contend for these real people with real needs. I need to dwell on this topic for awhile. I look forward to it.
Epidemic Youth Ministries has a very solid mission. Along with Battle Cry (Acquire the Fire) these ministries are keys to preventing the Teenage Runaway situations.
Hey thanks for the compliments on my music selection. Chronos is a terrific group and I really love the first song on my profile. It is a very deep and moving piece. There are still more out there...
